DISSOBER is a swedish crust/käng/punk/whatever fivepiece from Sweden that has been together since the beginning of 1992 when the band was formed by Dahlberg (guitar), Koskinen (guitar), Thölin (bass), Bröms (vocals)and Richard (drums)in Västerås.
The members came from the local bands Martial Mosh, M.B.E., Dom Anhöriga och Afflicted and the main idea from the very beginning was to use traditional no-bullshit Discharge style punk as a vehicle for continuos alcohol abuse.

By the time of Dissobers first recording drummer Richard had lost interest (and the ability to mangle full-on D-takt !). This brought the then Tribulation, now Puffball drummer Forsberg into the band since he passed the obligatory D-takt test with grace and was equally fond of the bottle. In the spring of 1993 Dissober made it´s first public appearance on the "Really Fast 8" compilation lp that showed the bands Anticimex-brand of punk at it´s finest with the songs "America Did This" and "Bomb Again". With the Meanwhile guitarrist Jallo and drummer Kennhed behind the mixerdesk it also had a powerful sound that Dissober quite frankly hasn´t been able to reach since then.

A couple of scandalous gigs followed (that led straight to court for singer Bröms, with the other bandmembers as witnesses !) and Dissober caught the eyes of Gothenburgs kängpunk specialists DISTORTION Records. The full length CD "Sober Life No Way" was recorded in september 1993 and released a couple of months later. Despite a rather abysmal sound it was well recieved and popular in kängpunk curcuits. Distortion records, however, wasn´t quite as pleased (much due to the albums hopeless sound and the bands chronic laziness) and stopped showing interest in the band. The same did singer and microphone slugger Bröms who left due to lack of motivation pretty soon after the CD´s release. Enter ex-Martial Mosh shouter Micke who immediately showed class and got a big thumbs up from the band by delivering a 100% drunken performance as frontman at a local rockpub.

In late 1995 a polish promotor approached the band to do a full Poland tour in early 1996 luring the guys with lines like "vodka is very cheap in Poland ..." and "the Poland punks are crazy for crust". Ten triumphant dates followed in the main cities with the local grind/crust gods TOXIC BONKERS as support and the band came home with bad livers and ringing ears. Read the full Poland TOURDIARYas published in the mighty Pie Mag written down by the driver Classe ! A drunken rollercoaster ride through the sooty forests of Poland ...

This brings us to late 1996 and the loyal (and patient) Dissober fans can hopefully expect a new release of some kind (probably a 7") in early 1997 since the band has a bunch of new partyhits in the works and they can´t wait to release another hymn to alcohol. The only problems are that the band is notorious for their nearly bizarre lack of rehearsalspirit and the fact that there are no good (and cheap, bear in mind that these guys rather spend their hardearned bucks on booze!) recordingstudios in their hometown... But, keep on waitin´ and why don´t you mail them now and encourage them to get into the studio ? That might help. And be sure to check back here often to see what´s happening in the drunken camp of Dissober. Ok, till then, see you in the bar.

Finally those 5 drunks have made it to the studio ! On the 7th of june they made the trip to Eskilstuna and the Ambassaden studio once again to team up with the winning team of Kennhed and Peter from MEANWHILE to record 10 full-on punk classics, "Earthwide Suicide", "Blood For Blood", "Never Obey", "Better Off Dead", "Losing It", "Warlords" (a cover of the seminal Västerås punk band PANIK BAZILL), "Government Solutions", "Trapped In A Waterfilled Grave", "Hard On The Sauce" and "The Wine Runs Red". This tape will be shipped out to a number of labels to look for interest in a 10", 12" or CD release. The sound is good (for a change) and the band mangle on their Anticimex/Discharge/Motörhead punk in a convincing way and continue telling stories about war, insanity and their love for alcohol. If you happend to run a cool label and have a sugartooth for crustpunk the swedish way get in contact with the band ok ?
