Trivia De Lyckliga Kompisarna are often only called by the shortening DLK. De lyckliga kompisarna was together with Dia Psalma, Charta 77 and a few more band the ones who got swedish youth to listen to punk again. DLK became the big happypunk-band which pleased both the punkrockers and “average joe” besides they also became the radioproducers big favourites. They got their biggest hit with “Ishockeyfrisyr” (“Ho-ho-ho-hockeyfrilla”) which was a huge radiohit and still is played dilligent. But DLK have had several songs on biggest radiochannel P3’s playlists. The bands four albums “Le som en fotomodell”, “Tomat”, “Sagoland” and “DLK” have sold over 50 000 ex. One of the highlights in the career was when they got to act houseband in the last Hassan show in the history, Hassan was a very popular radioshow in Sweden, which was broadcasted live from Gino in Stockholm, they performed about ten songs. The memberchanges has been quite a few during the years, with Mart Hällgren as the permanent point. The band was formed after a trip to Murmansk in the summer of 1989. Mart then got to replace the original drummer in Kalle & Chokladfabriken which was about to tour with Fredsresan in former Soviet Union. The cooperation developed to De Lyckliga Kompisarna and the self financed EP “Scania-Hjon” was recorded. 1990 Birnest signed them and released the single “Dit kuken pekar”. The debutealbum “Le som en fotomodell” (1991) gave the band a good reputation at least in punk circles. That De Lyckliga Kompisarna was about to become something big was easy to see at the bands gig at the Hultsfred-festival 1992 – it was full house in front of Amazonas-stage. 1993 came the second fullengthalbum “Tomat” and spring 1995 the third “Sagoland”. It was a more mature DLK we got to hear, the most drivel sides was gone. The album sold good but not as good as the once before – “DLK is supposed to be fun!” During autumn and winter 95/96 the band was taking it easy, spend time with studies etc. In springtime -96 they started again and with some changes in the line-up they recorded their fourth album. The first taste from it, the EP “Borlänge” contains “Elvis lever” which became the bands most radioplayed song. The selfnamed album was released in August 1996 and a live-CD in spring 1997. After DLK quitted Mart formed Ubba and played with them for a few years, he also had his solo project called Total Egon beside during the whole time. The Levin brothers was in the powerpopband Speed of Sound Enterprise which also contained Kent Norberg from Sator and Sator Codex.
